It's now available through the Apple App store.
It uses motion parallax to convey depth and provide look-around realism.
You can take your own headshot, and view it without needing 3-D glasses.
Exchange pictures with your friends using email, Facebook or Twitter.
You can also order 4x6-inch lenticular 3-D prints that provide motion parallax and stereoscopic viewing.
The app has a green-screen photography feature to let advertisers shoot product photos
of clothes, eyeglasses, hats, etc. to post on their website.
When a user with the app clicks on the ad's Popix3D icon,
they download the ad and can merge it with their headshot to see what they look like wearing the clothes, all in 3D.
The app has fun uses like adding a bow tie or mustache to a headshot,
but also is valuable for school principals and college deans to keep a visual record of
every student in case a student goes missing where the 3-D picture can be sent to
the police to do a search.
Doctors can exchange photos (Popix3D conversions from X-Rays and MRI's) with other doctors on a confidential basis.
The TSA can compile a visual "No-Fly" list.
We'll be offering photographic and computer-graphics ads to commercial advertisers
(for cars, shoes, cameras, food/drink, etc.).
The app comes with several pre-loaded samples, and is priced at $1.99.
